MOVIE: KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

The present is a group work (2-5 people). Each group must do a google presentation with the questions after watching the movie .

Kingdom of Heaven is a 2005 epic historical drama directed and produced by Ridley Scott and written by William Monahan. It stars Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Marton Csokas, Liam Neeson, Edward Norton, Ghassan Massoud, and Alexander Siddig.
The story is set during the Crusades of the 12th century. A French village blacksmith goes to aid the Kingdom of Jerusalem in its defense against the Ayyubid Muslim sultan Saladin, who is battling to reclaim the city from the Christians leading to the Battle of Hattin.

Film questions: TRISTAN AND ISOLDE

1) In the film are kings, barons, knights, squires ... At what time do you think sets the action?
The action happened in the middle ages.(When the Roman Empire fell) . 476 concretly.

2) Tristan and Isolde lived in castles. Do you think the castle was more comfortable than home? Why?
The castles wasn’t more comfortable than home because, in a castles  wasn’t have sheathing, or TV…

3) What other things have changed with respect to the way of life in the Middle Ages?
More things changed with the way of Middle ages, for example, the ‘’pelicilina’’, the electricity, the heating, the toilet…

4) In the Middle Ages, armies were formed by men on horseback (horsemen) who fought with shield, spear and sword. The knights served his Lord and had a very strict code of honor. What relationship do you think this is the expression "being a gentleman?"

I think if you use the same tools that the average age is useless, because the buildings are now much stronger.

7) To maintain peace between Cornwall and Ireland each year had to deliver the first 300 kids to the king of Irlanda. Nowadays think  could to solve a conflict like this? Actually, this was a solution? Why?
I think it is possible that if someone asks Currently recomensa children as for example in 2002 there was a terrorist group led by Boko Haram who did this.

8) Why prefer Isolde to Tristan, who killed his uncle Morholt?
Isolde preferred Tristan because she wants to visit England, and Tristan from ingland therefore as a way to feel touch with their culture.
9) The sword of Morholt was poisoned ? How  Isolde could cure him?.
Currently there is a tendency to return to folk medicine and neglecting medical doctors.
The sword was poisoned Morholt poison blowfish, and it could take herbal cure it.
10) Do you think you can die of love? Why?

I think it is not possible to die for love. Maybe, you are very sad and hurt ... but I can not get to the death.

On the backdrop of an Afghanistan respectful of its rich ancient traditions, life in Kabul during the winter of 1975 unfolds with all the intensity, strength and color of a city confident of its future and ignorant of looming one of the bloodiest and darkest periods that have suffered the ancient peoples living there. The Kite Runner is the poignant story of two parents and two children, his friendship and how chance can become unexpected milestone of our destiny. Obsessed show his father that it is a real man, Amir intends to win the annual competition of kites how it is, even at the cost of his inseparable Hassan, a Hazara lower class that has been his servant and playmate from earliest childhood. Despite the strong bond between them, after so many years of being defended each other in every imaginable dangers,

The movie begins on Afghanistan, in the 1975.

My favourite character of the movie is Hassan, because he take care of Amir allways.

Yes I learn, the live is not perfect, and if we are good does not mean that all people are not happy either.

I understand all the movie.
  1. What was the structure of the story told by the movie?
The structure of the story is: The movie begins in United States and, then explained the childhood of the two boys, then returns to United States and continues explaining the present.


  1. In the Kite Runner, how is religion used to acquire political power in Afghan society?
In the society there are two religions, shiitas and sunnitas. They apply the sharia (religious law).
  1. What might the kite flying tournament symbolize? The tournament symbolize
Youth, the desire to have fun ... Amir participate in the tournament because he wants his father would be proud of him.


  1. What precisely, is the "sin" of which Amir is guilty? What are the various consequences of his belief that he has committed an unforgivable sin?
Amir feels guilty for not preventing the rape Hasan. Amir feels guilty for not preventing the violesin Hasan.

Yes he is some selfish with hassan but hasssan always is some polite.
